Doorbordurend op de mogelijkheden van zijn populaire Ocean Bird 30 trimaran, de enige in die tijd die haar drijvers in het water kon inklappen, ontwierp John Westell de Ocean Bird 38, in opdracht van een Engels echtpaar. Deze unieke trimaran heeft veel achterstallig onderhoud, maar is het waard om door een liefhebber opgeknapt te worden. Building on the possibilities of his popular Ocean Bird 30 trimaran, the only one in its time that could fold her amas inwards while afloat, John Westell designed the Ocean Bird 38 for an English couple.
