De oorspronkelijke kiel van de "Halcyon" werd achterin de 60-er jaren gelegd op basis van Arthur Piver's bouwplan van de Victress 40, hetzelfde type waarmee Nigel Tetley en Donald Crowhurst grote zeereizen maakten. Na aanschaf besloot de nieuwe eigenaar het jacht een tweede leven te geven, door veel uitrusting te vernieuwen en de nieuwe huid en dekken te bekleden met glas-weefsel en epoxyhars. Alleen de zeilen en de motor kwamen uit een ander vaartuig. Een trimaran in deze staat en met zoveel leefruimte is voor de huidige prijs praktisch niet te vinden.

The original keel of the "Halcyon" was laid in the late sixties and based on the design of Arthur Piver's Victress 40, the same type that Nigel Tetley and Donald Crowhurst chose for their famous exploits. After having bought this trimaran the present owner decided to give the yacht a second life, thereby sheathing the new skins with glass and epoxy. All instruments and most equipment were renewed; only the sails and engine had been used on a another yacht before. A trimaran in this condition with so much space is very hard to find at her present price.
