The
Shuttleworth 28 is an open bridgedeck catamaran designed by John
Shuttleworth in the UK and expertly built in
Ireland. The builder has built two
monohulls and a 40' catamaran prior to "Mojo". She has been
built and outfitted for simplicity and self-sufficiency to
minimize main-tenance and maximize enjoyment. The hulls and
bridgedeck are constructed of fiberglass/Airex foam sandwich.
She has minimal through-hull fittings and numerous watertight
compartments provide massive buoyancy. The interior hull and
deck surfaces are unlined for long-term mildew resistance and
easy access to fittings. Solar panels supply all electric
requirements and the Bimini doubles as a rain catcher to
replenish fresh water.
This boat has safely cruised thousands of ocean miles and is a
well proven sea boat. She has travelled from Ireland to Spain,
Portugal, Senegal, the Gambia and across the Atlantic Ocean to
Brasil. From Brasil, she travelled to French Giana, Trinidad and
Tobago, Venezuela, numerous Caribbean islands and the Bahamas.
In 2009, she safely completed a second transatlantic to Ireland
via Bermuda and the Azores.
This well thought out small cruising catamaran is available at a
very reasonable cost and will make an excellent tropical cruiser
for her next owners. She deserves your consideration.
