Gebaseerd op de voorgaande ontwerpen van Gérard Danson (de architect die de Outremer werf heeft opgericht), vertegenwoordigt de 40 (verlengd tot 42') een persoonlijke en creatieve opvatting van een zeer snelle kajuit-catamaran. Dit jacht is de bench-mark voor alle volgende 1e generatie catamarans van deze werf. De balans tussen comfort en prestaties is optimaal en de besturing via de helmstokken is fascinerend. Ondanks de geweldige vaareigenschappen zijn deze catamarans veilig en gemakkelijk te onderhouden. Deze Outremer is uitstekend onderhouden en gerenoveerd en uitgerust met een enkele Mitsubishi 30 PK diesel met bestuur- en ophaal-bare Sonic Drive. Een prima oplossing om het motoronderhoud makkelijker te maken en het gewicht te  beperken en te centreren en toch een betrouwbare en veilige motorinstallatie te hebben bij een windstilte.

Based on the previous designs of Gérard Danson (the architect who founded the Outremer yard), the 40 (extended to 42') represents a personal and creative view of a very fast cruising catamaran. This yacht is the bench mark for all next 1st generation catamarans of this yard. The balance between comfort and performance is optimal and the control via the tillers is fascinating. Despite the great sailing performance, these catamarans are safe and easy to maintain. This Outremer is extremely well kept and renovated and equipped with a single Mitsubishi 30 HP diesel with steerable and lifting Sonic Drive. A great solution to make engine maintenance easier, keeping a reduced weight in the centre, yet have a reliable and safe auxillary installation in the event of too light wind to use the sails.
