De Piana 30 is bedacht en ontworpen als een eenvoudige boot om zeilers de mogelijkheid te bieden voor een redelijke prijs de goede eigenschappen van een catamaran te leren waarderen. De nadruk van het ontwerp ligt op uitstekende zeileigenschappen, ook aan de wind, bereikt door een lichte, duurzame constructie, grote stabiliteit en lage windweerstand door de slanke kajuitopbouw. In de rompen is stahoogte, in de middenkajuit alleen zithoogte, waar lange zeilers mogelijk wat moeite mee hebben.
"Zazou" is deskundig gebouwd onder toezicht van ontwerper Bertrand Desray van multiplex bekleed met glas en epoxy en verkeerd nog in opvallend goede staat. De huidige eigenaar kocht de catamaran in 2001 en heeft de uitrusting volledig gecompleteerd met moderne electronica naast de al aanwezige navigatie-apparatuur. De centrale buitenboordmotor wordt aangestuurd door de helmstokken. De accomodatie biedt plaats aan 6 personen binnen en buiten in de kuip en de stuurman heeft een stoeltje op de ruime zijdekken boven de achterkajuiten. De radar-mast is strijkbaar.

The Piana 30 was conceived and designed as a simple, accessible boat that allows sailors to experience the advantages of a catamaran at a reasonable price. The design focuses on excellent sailing performance, including upwind, achieved through a light and durable construction, high stability, and low wind resistance thanks to the slender cabin structure. The hulls offer standing headroom, while the central cabin provides seated headroom only, which may be a little less comfortable for tall sailors.

“Zazou” was professionally built under the supervision of designer Bertrand Desray, using marine plywood sheathed in glass and epoxy, and remains in remarkably good condition. The current owner purchased the catamaran in 2001 and has fully completed the equipment with modern electronics in addition to the existing navigation instruments. The central outboard engine is linked to the tillers. The accommodation offers space for six people inside and outside in the cockpit, and the helmsman has a dedicated seat on the wide side decks above the aft cabins. The radar mast is easily lowered.
